This is the first of two books about a School for the Daughters of Busy Parents. Ms Rapscott is the headmistress of the slightly unusual school. The school is situated in a lighthouse and has two Corgis, Lewis and Clark, who live with Ms Rapscott and follow her around ticking things off a checklist (as dogs do). The girls are shipped off to the school in little boxes. They arrive with much thumping and are amazed to find themselves in the middle of a lighthouse which is to be their new school. Four girls arrive in the boxes but a fifth box is empty – her mother was too busy and forgot to seal the box!
So amidst cocoa, birthday cake and ice cream for breakfast the girls set off with Ms Rapscott and the Corgis in tow to go and find the missing Dahlia. Fun adventures follow them – parachuting through the sky and riding seaskimmers (like seals) on the ocean is just the start.
For 7 – 9 year olds.
