“Ouma Hessie’s” Orange cake 1 layer
375 ml cake flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
220 ml sugar
65 ml oil
190 ml buttermilk
63 ml orange juice plus 1/2 teaspoon orange rind
Mix sugar and eggs till creamy
Sift dry ingredients
Heat oil and milk
Mix the oil and milk mixture with the creamy egg mixture
Mix the dry ingredients into the oil/egg mixture and pour into sprayed round cake trays.
Bake at 180 degrees celcius for about 20-30 minutes till light brown on top.
You can use the basic cream cheese frosting to decorate the cake and grate some orange rind on top or mix with the frosting.
